Texas State Contractor License Regulations

 Builders in the State of Texas are not licensed, but are required to register with the Texas Residential Construction Commision. Workers' Compensation is not a state requirement. However, your customers may require it. Contact the Texas Department Of Insurance for more information. The initial application fee is $500 with a renewal fee of $300.
